Other Methods for Controlling Wasps

Dusts are very effective in controlling the entire colony. It can be applied using a hand duster and dispensing several puffs of dust into the nest opening. Treatment should be done at night.

Nests should be located in the daytime (to assist in treating) and treated at night. If a flashlight is needed, do not shine directly on nest. Do not stand directly under nest while treating. Wait at least 24-48 hours before removing the nest. If activity continues, re-treat.

Remove nest to prevent other insects from inhabiting the nest. Pest management professionals should be called if nests are hard-to-reach or become unusually large.
