  1. There are dry, bald patches in our lawn. We suspect they were caused by a dog. What can we do?
This is a very common problem. I highly recommend using our Magic Start? Grass Patch?. It has all the ingredients you need to fill in patches. It is also specially formulate to repair pet damage. There are more details and instructions at our web site for Grass Patch?. You can also buy it in our online store.

  2. I have a question about my yard, garden, trees, lawn, or flowers.
Please go to our Gardening Q&A. Experts from the National Gardening Association have provided great answers for the most common questions.
  3. Do I have to cut pampas grass in the spring?
When you see new growth appearing, usually in the spring, cut out all the browned grass. For more lawn and garden questions, see our article library or FAQs. I also recommend the National Gardening Association web site for questions that are not answered by our site.

  4. How do I determine how much Ringer Lawn Restore should I use?
Please see our Ringer Lawn Restore instructions for information on spreading and ingredients.

  5. If I apply lime to my lawn, will it harm my dog or cat?
Lime will not harm animals. You should keep pets out of the area when you are applying. Once it is down, it is okay for pets to be on the lawn. Visit our lawn care section at Victorpest.com for more help.

  6. Is a lawn treated with Ringer Lawn Restore safe for cats, dogs, and pets?
Ringer Lawn Restore is completely natural, and safe to use around children and pets. The ingredients are derived from hydrolyzed poultry feather meal, nitrate of soda, potassium sulfate, bone meal and soybean meal. For more information about Ringer Lawn Restore, read the full instructions.
  7. How should I start a lawn without using chemicals?
Our gardening partner, the National Gardening Association, has step by step instructions for seeding a new lawn. They recommend starting a lawn in the fall, and using cool weather grasses. Having healthy soil is the first place to start. You can purchase a kit at a local gardening center to test your soil. Add to your soil what you're missing. Using organic compost is a great way to amend your soil.

Once your lawn is started, be sure to check out our lawn FAQs and articles for more help.

  8. Is there anything I can buy to keep chipmunks away from my flowers?
There are a few solutions at our web site. First go to wildlife FAQs. There is a Q&A about chipmunks about halfway down the page. You should also read Avoiding and Solving Bulb Problems. Chipmunks are mentioned in that article. You may also want to visit the chipmunks section of our Havahart web site for even more information.
  9. How can I get rid of the invasive plant (such as ajuga) which is overtaking my lawn?
Our National Gardening Association friends have answered similar questions about invasive plants and weeds. Go to our Weeds FAQ to find out how to best get rid of this plant. You can also use Weed Away, which is a low-toxic broadleaf weed killer that will not kill grass.
  10. We accidentally sprayed our lawn and killed it. When can we seed a new lawn? How do we do it?
Our Lawn FAQ may have the answer under Lawn Renovation. Most likely, the spray you used will have worn off by the time you re-seed. Be sure to check out our Lawn Restore product when it comes to pumping up your lawn the natural way.
