Q.I live in Massachusetts and its been a very cold early spring. I just purchased Lawn Restore and Weed prevention plus and am wondering which to apply first. My back yard is completely new grass, planted in the fall, and it has come in well. My front yard is more established. Which product should I apply now? (Assuming its the Weed Prevention Plus). Should I do something different in the back yard since it is new? Any help would be appreciated!
A.

We recommend using the Weed Prevention Plus first. It should be applied in the early spring, 3-5 weeks before weeds begin to sprout. As long as the new grass has established roots, the product can be used.

Q.What setting would be correct for Scotts Speedy Green 3000?
A.

We recommend placing the spreader on setting 15.

Q.Do you have a lawn care program for a lawn of 15,000 sq. ft.? If you do what would be the cost? My property is 1/2 acre, thanks in advance.
A.

Each of our Safer® Brand Lawn Care Programs will cover 4,000 sq. ft. To cover 15,000 sq. ft, a total of four programs would need to be purchased. Current pricing for the programs is available online.

Q.What is the difference between weed prevent plus 8-2-4 and weed prevent plus 0% phosphate
A.

Our Concern® Weed Prevention Plus® 0% Phosphate (model 97187) consists of corn gluten meal (100%).  The Concern® Weed Prevention Plus® 8-2-4 (model 97185) contains corn gluten meal (82%), bone meal (4%), potassium sulfate (8%), and wheat middlings (6%).

Q.Is there a shelf life for the product. If I purchase the lawn care program this fall, but don't apply till next Spring is that OK, or should I hold off until Spring to purchase
A.

These products do not have a shelf life. Generally our products are good for 2 years when unopened and one year when opened. If stored in a cool, dry place, the products can be saved until spring.
