Safer® Brand BioNEEM® Insecticide and Repellent, 16 oz. Neem Oil Concentrate This unique insect repellent controls over 30 common insect pests! The Safer® Brand BioNEEM® insecticide and repellent concentrate works as a powerful insect killer and as a repellent. This product is formulated with azadirachtin, a natural Insect Growth Regulator extracted from the Neem seed. As an IGR, the neem oil in BioNEEM® disrupts insects delicate hormonal balance, killing them before they molt into their next life stage. Use a neem oil solution such as BioNEEM® on trees, shrubs, ornamentals and flowers. Water to concentrate ratios vary per the type of plant being treated. Safer® Brand BioNEEM® works very effectively by suffocating the insect. Remember, when using Neem oil products, there is greater risk of phototoxicity (burning). Avoid using sulfur based fungicides within the active period (5-7 days) of the BioNEEM® application. These two products combined, greatly increase the risk of plant burn. While Safer® Brand BioNEEM® is a contact killer, several applications of the neem oil may be needed for full control. As a general rule, much like watering, do not use neem oil in the peak of the day or when temperatures exceed 90 degrees F to avoid wilting or browning of the leaves. Unlike traditional synthetic chemicals, this product is safe to use around children and pets. It breaks down into their natural elements within 7-10 days, leaving no residual impact on the environment. Safer® Brand BioNEEM® Neem oil insect killer is highly preferable to chemical pesticides, with toxins that can kill beneficial insects and cause long-term detrimental affects on the environment. Another negative effect of the chemical pesticides is the fact that insects can possibly buildup of resistance to the chemicals in the pesticides. Directions for Use: Shake well before using. Use spray solutions within 8 hours of mixing for maximum effectiveness. Do not store diluted spray solution for later use. Not for use in food handling areas. Since BioNEEM® interferes with insect growth function, it is most effective when applied 2-3 times at 7-10 day intervals. Application directly onto the target pest will increase efficacy. Time applications for early to mid morning or in the late afternoon. Note: Do not add other chemicals to BioNEEM® solutions. Do not apply to wilted, stressed, or newly transplanted materials prior to root development. Safer® Brand is the leader in alternative lawn and garden products. Safer® Brand recognizes the growing demand by consumers for these products, offering a wide variety of natural and organic solutions for lawn, garden, landscape, flowers, houseplants, insects and more!

I used Bioneem to control small leafhoppers on my tomatoes and potatos. If you follow the directions, spraying frequently, you will control them. This is a safe way to treat certain insects, I would definitely buy this product again.

Expert Tips for a Beautiful Garden!
Gardening can be a very rewarding and healthy undertaking. By using organic products and methods, plants grow better, insect pests can be controlled, plant diseases can be eliminated, and lush harvests can be enjoyed! Learn More: Tips for Using Safer® Brand BioNEEM® Insecticide and Repellent, Concentrate
General Information The effectiveness of BioNEEM® is based on several modes of action. It disrupts insects’ hormonal balance so they die before they molt to the next life stage. BioNEEM® suppresses some insects’ desire to feed and also repels in areas that have been sprayed. These different modes of action result in broad spectrum control of the majority of insects that harm your yard and garden.
BioNEEM® spares many beneficial insects such as honey bees and lady bugs that prey on undesirable insects. Without beneficial insects to control pest populations, plants are even more vulnerable to new infestations.
Neem-based products have been extensively tested and used as effective insecticides in commercial green houses. The Neem seed has been the subject of extensive testing throughout the world since World War II. Neem has been tested at major universities throughout the U.S. since 1982.
The active ingredient in BioNEEM® is organic. It comes from a natural source: an extract from seeds of the neem tree, a renewable resource. The neem tree is native to India, Africa and several other tropical countries. Directions for Use General directions: Shake well before using. Spray solutions should be used within 8 hours of mixing for maximum effectiveness. Do not store diluted spray solution for later use. Not for use in food handling areas. BioNEEM® is most effective when applied 2-3 times at 7-10 day intervals. Application directly onto the target pest will increase efficacy. Time applications for early to mid morning or in the late afternoon.
Do not add other chemicals to BioNEEM® solutions. Do not apply to wilted, stressed or newly transplanted materials prior to root development. Do not apply to known sensitive plant species without prior testing. Known sensitive plants: hibiscus flowers.

FAQs About Insects in Your Garden and Safer® Brand BioNeem Insecticide and Repellent, Concentrate
Q: My plant leaves look chewed! Do you know what type of insect might do that? A: Insects that have the ability to chew plants must have special cutters in their mouths for this purpose. Such insects may include caterpillars, beetles, and grasshoppers, for example.
Q: If I use a floating row cover, how will bees and other pollinating insects reach the plants? A: They won’t be able to so you will need to pollinate them yourself by hand. Check with your local garden center or farm supply store to find out how to hand pollinate them. You may want to remove the row covers during times of insect pollination. Q: How do I know if my plant is being attacked by an insect or a disease? A: If it’s an insect, the plant may have holes in its leaves. Turn the leaves over and you may see the insects themselves clustered on the underside of the leaves. You may also see and feel a sticky substance if it’s an insect because the insect will leave a secretion on the plant.
Q: When is the best time of day to use BioNeem? A: Time applications for early to mid morning or in the late afternoon.
