What the Numbers Mean
The three numbers on the front of most fertilizer bags show the percentage by weights of a particular nutrient contained within the product. A higher number does not necessarily mean a better product. What is important is the type of nutrients provided and the ways in which they are released. Ringer Lawn Restore is specially formulated to provide the appropriate ratio of nutrients for a lush, thick, green, vital lawn.
10 Nitrogen- Promotes vigorous growth, gives grass a lush, green color.
2 Phosphate- Phosphorous source that stimulates root growth.
6 Potash- Potassium source that helps plants withstand heat, cold, and drought stresses.

Normal Lawns
Apply Ringer® Lawn Restore Fertilizer in spring, summer, and fall at a rate of 10 lbs. of fertilizer per 1,000 sq. ft. with a drop or rotary spreader (bag covers 2,500 sq. ft.) which will deliver 1 lb. of nitrogen per 1,000 sq. ft. per application.
Water immediately after application to activate product. Keep lawn moist, but not saturated for the next 3-4 days. For continued maintenance, water once or twice weekly to provide1”of moisture (including rainfall). A typical takes 3-4 hours to provide 1” of moisture.
*Additional Ringer® Lawn Restore winter application or application up to 20 lbs. per 1,000sq. ft. may be desirable in climates with a longer growing cycle.
Lawns with Excess Thatch or Problem Lawns
Check your thatch by extracting a 2” to 4” deep soil core sample with a coring tool or knife and measure the brown layer of roots and organic material just above soil surface. The optimum thatch level of a lawn is 1/4” to 1/2”. If in excess of 1/2", or for a problem lawn, Ringer recommends the following four steps to enhance the quality of your lawn:
1. Fertilization – A fertilizer that provides slow release nitrogen should be applied 2-4 times per season following recommended application rates.
2. Watering – Lawns should receive approximately one inch of water a week (including rainfall). A typical sprinkler takes 3-4 hours to provide one inch of moisture.
3. Mowing – Adopt the 1/3 rule, not more than 1/3 of the leaf should be removed in any one mowing. During times of stress (summer), keep grass longer than in spring and fall.
4. Aerating – Core aerating in spring or fall. Core aerating allows air into the soil and breaks up compacted soil.
New Sod or Seed
Lawn Restore is ideal in helping establish new root systems. Unlike some fertilizers, Ringer® Lawn Restore won’t burn tender, developing roots. Simply apply at a rate of 10 lbs. of fertilizer per 1,000 sq. ft. For new sod, work the Lawn Restore into topsoil before laying sod. For new seed, work Lawn Restore into topsoil prior to seeding.
Water to keep surface moist, but not saturated, until sod/seedings are established.

Store Ringer® Lawn Restore® Fertilizer in a cool, dry place, out of the reach of animals. They may be attracted to the product’s ingredients.
