Safer® Brand Grub Killer – 32oz Hose-End Sprayer – How It Works Safer® Brand Grub Killer uses multiple modes of action to get rid of the larval stages of many nuisance insects. Using azadirachtin, it kills insects by disrupting their delicate hormonal balance so they die before molting to the next stage. It also disrupts some insects’ desire to feed, so they die from malnutrition. Grub Killer even has the unique ability to repel many insects from areas that have been sprayed.

The unique hose-end sprayer attaches to any garden hose to cover up to 4,000 sq ft. This OMRI Listed® insect killer is compliant for use in organic gardening so you can spray in and around the areas of your home where insects are present, all while adhering to organic gardening standards. Plus, Grub Killer spares many beneficial insects including honey bees and lady bugs when used as directed.

Kills & Repels Insect Larvae The larval stage of many insects can be just as destructive as their adult counterparts. Many homeowners are unaware that larvae exist in their lawns because they can live underground for months or even years before emerging. During their time underground, insect larva can cause extensive damage to lawns before they become adults. Safer® Brand Grub Killer uses azadirachtin to control these insects with several modes of action. It disrupts the insects’ delicate hormonal balance so they die before they molt to the next life stage. It also suppresses some insects’ desire to feed, and even repels many insects in areas that have been sprayed.
Kills and Repels Insect Larvae
Grub Killer Spray
Broad Spectrum Control with Neem Oil Azadiracthin, the active ingredient in Safer® Brand Grub Killer, is extracted from neem oil. Neem oil is a naturally occurring pesticide found in the seeds of neem trees. When used to control insect pests, it works to interfere with the insect’s hormonal system to prevent them from growing to their next life stage and hindering their ability to feed. Plus, unlike any other pesticide, azadirachtin has the unique ability to repel many insects from areas that have been sprayed. These combined modes of action result in broad spectrum control of many insects that invade yards and gardens.

Beneficial Insects
Spares Beneficial Insects Safer® Brand Grub Killer kills and repels a variety of destructive larval insects. When used as directed, this treatment spares many beneficial insects such as honey bees and lady bugs. Without beneficial insects to control pest populations, plants are even more vulnerable to new infestations.
How To Use Grub Killer Always shake the bottle before using to ensure proper mixture and distribution. Attach the sprayer head to a hose and spray the affected area with Safer® Brand Grub Killer. Since Grub Killer interferes with insect growth functions. Apply 2 to 3 times at 7 to 10 day intervals. Hitting pests directly with the spray will increase efficacy. It’s best to apply product during the early to mid-morning hours or late in the afternoon. When applying to trees and shrubs, be sure to coat the underside of leaves as this is often where many insects hide.
How to use Grub Killer
Hose End Sprayer
An Easy-to-Use Hose End Attachment The ready-to-spray Safer® Brand Grub Killer conveniently attaches to your garden hose for easy application on lawns, trees and shrubs. I am very happy with it By Bj

My back yard lawn had been ruined by my chicken and not enough watering. I had it sodded. WhIle preparing the soil, my lawn guy showed me the grubs in the dirt. He told me there were also grubs in the sod and I needed to get a grub killer. I ordered the grub killer from safer brands and applied it. That was about 3 or 5 days after the sod was put down during that interval and a few days afterward I saw holes in the grass from birds digging for, what I assume, we're the feubs. That was 3 weeks ago, sunday. I didn't even realize until I got the email today asking me to write a review that hadn't seen any more holes in weeks. So. . .I am totally satisfied with it. I kept my chickens off of the grass or the first 10 to 14 days or so. ( one of them began flying over the temporary fence, which I took down last week )They have not seemed to have had any adverse effects from the grub killer.

Not trying anything else this year. By Trisha

Didn't work at all. Shook the bottle just like it said. Sprayed, probably too much because the bottle didn't go far. I used 3 bottles and I still have grubs.

Sod webworm RIP By Tootie

Finally found the knock-out punch in the treatment of my lawn from the dreaded sod webworm!! I followed a 2 step approach, over 2 weeks, of a granular insecticide then Bt based spray. Once I substituted the Bt based spray, with one bottle of the Safer Brand Grub killer, the sod webworms were gone, gone, gone!! And my lawn grew back and greened up. I rarely give 5 stars but this could not have been easier. Waited till the evening worm "dinner time", and had enough for front lawn. Practice the switch before you go, so not to waste a drop.

Garden Pest Control - FAQs

Q: Can insect pests survive the winter and affect my garden next year?

A: Yes, many insect pests can survive cold winters by "overwintering" under plant debris and leaves on the ground. This is why it is very important to remove plant debris after harvesting this year's crop and then till the soil.

Q: Help! I have bagworms on my small evergreens. How do I get rid of them?

A: Fall, winter or early in the spring is the best time to do this, before the eggs inside of the "bags" have hatched. If you have a larger infestation, a product containing B.t. or Bacillus thringiensis can be used to help control the bagworms.

Q: How do I know if my plant is being attacked by an insect or a disease?

A: An insect will leave holes in the plant leaves that you can see when turning the leaves over. You may also see the insects themselves on the underside of leaves. You can also see and feel a sticky substance from insect secretion on the plants.
