In a remote area on my farm to find out 1/4 way thru my Safer Critter Ridder Pump spray decided to become clogged over pump sprays. Fighting with the pump spray and growing frustrated due to my remote location the pump spray stopped working, clearly clogged. Looking at other reviews this appears to be a common problem with the solution and the pump spray. $22 at Big R called Safer the manufacture to get an Arab in BFE to tell me not his problem and go pound some sand. So, Kiss my Ass Safer your product sucks and so even worse is the child representing your company in India. I will find every avenue to leave Bad Reviews. Warranty your product when An American calls and tells you what you morons already know, you pump sprayer sucks
Thank you for sharing your experience with the Safer® Brand Critter Ridder® Animal Repellent. We’re sorry to hear about the trouble you had with the sprayer and the frustration it caused. The sprayer is designed to work smoothly when the product is shaken well before and during use, as the granules can settle and lead to clogging. Rinsing the sprayer nozzle with warm water after use can also help prevent buildup.

Wish I read the reviews before I wasted my $26 on this garbage. Does not work. Do not buy. Squirrels, Rabbits, Cats, and dogs are not at all bothered by this crap. I actually watched one dog drop and roll in the area I treated. Never saw that before.
We’re sorry to hear the Safer® Brand Critter Ridder® Animal Repellent Granules didn’t provide the results you expected. For best results, apply the granules in a continuous band around the area you want to protect and reapply after rain or watering. Removing nearby food sources and combining the repellent with other deterrents—such as motion-activated lights or noise devices—can also help with more persistent animals.

This product does not work.

This product does not work. I think you need to have the option of "zero" stars.
It does not deter chipmunks. I've been working on getting the chipmunks to abandon one hole next to my foundation. Each day I spread the Critter Ritter repellent & even pour it down their hole and then even tried to cover their hole with dirt. They just dig out. I suggest you remove "chipmunks" from the product labeling since it obviously is false promotion/advertisement.
I'll continue to keep on trying it but I'm at this with your product for over two weeks.
Thank you for this feedback. We're sorry to hear that the desired results have not yet been seen. Critter Ridder® is a conditioning agent and not an instant repellent. It works over time and multiple exposures to the product to teach animals to stay away from the treated area. Each encounter with the product will irritate the animal's nose, mouth, and paws. Over time, the animal will learn to associate this unpleasant feeling with the area in which it was applied. If an animal has been coming to that area habitually, it may take longer for them to be repelled. It has a 30 day return period at the retailer.

Product does help deter squirrels.

Product does help deter squirrels. As soon as they get a good dose they take off like they were struck by lightning. Would like to see this sold in bulk, though.
We applied this product per instructions, in the flower bed and over lawn. It did not deter the squirell at all. He came across where the product was spread and proceeded to eat all the suet cakes we had in the cage. At the cost of this product, this is very disappointing. Since it was used, the store will not return it. What is your policy?
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. This product is a conditioning agent and it may take several encounters with the treated area for animals to learn they are not welcome. Our products have a 30-day guarantee, please reach out to us at 855-767-4264 with any questions! -Kathryn

Does the product work with wild turkeys?
Question by: Tim Youmans on Oct 15, 2025, 7:26 PM
This product is formulated to repel raccoons, skunks, dogs, cats, squirrels, groundhogs, and chipmunks. It has not been tested with wild turkeys, so we cannot guarantee its effectiveness for that specific animal.
Answer by: Karla (Admin) on Oct 16, 2025, 10:24 AM
Does this product come with any type of guarantee to work? I feed the birds which causes the squirrels and chipmunks to gather under the feeders. I applied according to directions and it didn't seem to deter either one of these pests. Please advise. Thank you, Bruce Kelly, Grand Rapids MI
Question by: Bruce Kelly on May 21, 2025, 8:21 PM
Thank you very much for contacting us.
This product is designed to repel by both smell and taste. Animals such as squirrels and chipmunks may need to experience a few unpleasant exposures before they learn to avoid the treated area. When they come into contact with the product, their nose and mouth are immediately irritated, which conditions them to stay away over time.
Please keep in mind that this conditioning process may take a few repeated encounters to be effective. We recommend continuing applications as directed to ensure consistent deterrence.
