Is Safer Brand Diatomaceous Earth Insect Killer Food Grade?
No. Safer Brand D.E. is designed to kill crawling insects. It should not be applied to food. Safer Brand Food Grade D.E. is only for use as an animal feed additive to prevent caking.
What insects does DE work on?
Diatomaceous Earth works on a wide variety of crawling insects, including ants, earwigs, millipedes, centipedes, silverfish, cockroaches, crickets, fleas, carpet beetles, bed bugs, grasshoppers, and more.
How do I clean up DE?
If you need to clean up Diatomaceous Earth, first don a breathing mask and rubber gloves. D.E. is best cleaned using a wet towel or mop. If vacuuming, be sure to use a filterless vacuum.
How much Lawn Restore do I need and how often do I apply?
Each bag of Lawn Restore covers up to 5,000 square feet. Apply granules after the last frost and again every 8 weeks.
How long does the Clothes Moth Alert lure last?
Clothes Moth Alert Traps last for up to 12 weeks.
How do Pantry Pest traps work?
Pantry Pest uses a time-release pheromone lure to attract male pantry moths to the trap. Once they enter, they get stuck on the sticky surface and die. This disrupts the breeding cycle to stop an infestation in its tracks.
How do I know if my plants are being attacked by an insect?
If it’s an insect, the plant may have holes in its leaves. Turn the leaves over and you may see the insects themselves clustered on the underside of the leaves. You may also see and feel a sticky substance from secretions insects leave behind.
Can I sprinkle DE on my pet to kill fleas?
No. Diatomaceous Earth should not be applied directly to pets.
How soon after Diatomaceous Earth application is it safe for people or pets to be in the room?
Once the dust has settled, people and pets can enter the room. Make sure there are no piles of dust that will easily be kicked up or accessed.
